Therapeutic/Integrative Massage
Integrative therapy is a psychological approach that combines techniques and theories from various therapeutic schools of thought to create a customized treatment plan for each individual client, essentially tailoring therapy to their specific needs and context, rather than relying on a single method alone; it aims to address the whole person by considering their mental, emotional, and physical well-being holistically
If you are experiencing, Chronic pain, Stress, Muscle tension, Anxiety or Chronic injury a Therapeutic/Integrative Massage can help calm the system and release the tension.
The sessions usually include a combination of techniques depending on the clients specific goal. This can include Vital Body CBD Oil, Swedish , Deep Tissue, Triggerpoint Therapy (to relieve referred pain patterens from chronically tight muscl bands), Dynamic Cupping (to open and releve myofascial restrictions), Hot Stones and Warm Towels to warm and sooth tired overstressed muscles, Manual Lymphatic Drainage to help calm the system and clear cellular debris from the tissue. The physical manipulation in therapeutic massage has two major physical effects: Increase in blood and lymph circulation. Relaxation and normalization of the soft tissue (muscle, connective tissue, tendons, ligaments), which releases nerves and deeper connective tissues.Ultimately getting the body back to a state if relaxation and homeostasis so it can repair itself.
*It's recommended that the first visit be 90min so we have time discuss specific issues.
Manual Lymphatic Drainage
MLD is a very gentle non-invasive manual technique that uses specific "stretch and release" movements to direct Lymphatic fluid through lymph channels in order to move stagnant lymph, release debris and inflammation from tissues and boost the immune system. Simply put the lymphatic system is like the body's disposal system. The "stretch release" technique used can induce a calming, analgesic effect on the nervous system, helping to reduce pain and anxiety. The goal of these sessions is to get the body back to center (or homeostasis). This way it can do the healing it is meant to do. Many people love the deep sense relaxation from these sessions in and of itself.
The lymphatic system is an integral part of your immune system. It has several functions, including; protecting your body from illness causing invaders, maintaining body fluid levels, absorbing digestive tract fats and removing cellular waste and debris. Because the lymph system relies on muscle movement to move the lymph, there are many things that can effect it's flow such as; inactivity, injury, blockages (ie scar tissue), lymph node removal, compromised lymph nodes, radiation or disease. A Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massage can boost the flow of lymph and re-direct fluid around blocked or compromised areas to the healthy lymph vessels and back to the heart. From there it's removed via the organs of excretion.
*MLD has so many benefits and many conditions respond favorably to it, including:
Post surgical edema,
Lymphedema, Lipodema,
Auto immune disorders such as Fibromyalgia or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (to name a few),
Neurological Disorders such as ALS, Parkinsons, MS (to name a few),
Migraines, Sinus Headaches,
as a follow up to deep tissue massage,
cellulite reduction
enhanced immunity and detoxification.
Chronic Stress, Anxiety and PTSD
MLD is also beneficial (with a Doctors approval) before and after surgery. Some pre-operative benefits are preparing the tissue for surgery, inducing a state of relaxation and stimulation of the immune system. Some of the post-operative benefits include; pain reduction, stimulating the immune system, helping to prevent post-surgical infections, Improving skin regeneration, reducing scar tissue and lessens healing time. MLD has become a standard healing practice in hospitals and clinics throughout Europe since it was developed back in1936 Paris, France. Now, increasingly more doctors and surgeons recommend MLD for their patients because they are seeing better results and faster healing times.
*Contraindications(should be avoided) to MLD include: Fever, acute cellulitis, acute allergic reaction, infection, untreated Congestive Heart Failure, acute untreated Deep Vein Thrombosis and more.
*90 or 75 minute for the initial MLD service is recommended to discuss medical history and address any questions you may have.
Oncology Massage
Oncology massage therapy is gentle work designed to address the specific and changing needs of the cancer survivor or those in treatment. OM modifies the massage techniques in order safely and gently work with the effects of cancer and cancer treatment. Symptoms such as Pain , Edema, Sleep Loss, Anxiety can be helped. This includes people in active treatment, those in recovery or survivorship, as well as those at the end-of-life. Oncology massage therapy is increasingly being used as a complementary integrative therapy in many hospitals and cancer clinics.
An Oncology massage session can look different for each person. For example, two women both diagnosed with breast cancer may require very different adaptations to their massage sessions. One woman might need scar tissue/range of motion and flexibility work while the other might have Lymphedema in her arm as a result of lymph node removal or radiation. Though the adaptations are often different the goal is not and that is to help improve your quality of life while you go through your cancer journey.
*A 75min session for the initial service is recommended too discuss the clients needs for that day.
*If you have a serious medical condition or recent surgery, please print out the "Physicians Permission Form" from the "Forms" page and bring it with you to our first appointment.I am also available to speak with your physician or a member of your Oncology Team in order that we are all on the same page .

Massage therapy generally falls under the classification of "general health," which refers to a service or procedure that can provide a boost to a person's overall health and wellness but is not considered a vital treatment to alleviate a specific medical condition. However, if a medical professional deems massage therapy as necessary for the treatment of a chronic illness, will aid the recuperation process from a significant injury, account holders will have to obtain a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN).
If an account holder has a medical condition that will require massage therapy to be included in a treatment plan, a physician must produce a Letter of Medical Necessity containing a specific diagnosis about how massage therapy will be used to alleviate the issue. Additionally, the physician must outline how long the treatment will last and another LMN must be submitted if the treatment exceeds the current plan year.
